Dan Balan is a singer, songwriter and producer from Moldova, celebrated for his defining role in bringing Eastern European pop to global stages. Born on 6 February 1979 in Chişinău, he built an extraordinary career as a performer, lyricist, multi-instrumentalist and producer.

O-Zone and Dragostea Din Tei

He rose to fame as the founder and creative force behind O-Zone, whose global smash “Dragostea Din Tei” topped charts in over 30 countries and sold millions of copies worldwide, becoming one of the defining pop moments of the early 2000s.

Solo Career and Grammy Nomination

After O-Zone disbanded, Dan launched his solo career under the alter-ego Crazy Loop, releasing internationally acclaimed tracks including “Chica Bomb” and “Justify Sex”. He is the only Moldovan artist nominated for a Grammy Award, for co-writing “Live Your Life” performed by Rihanna and T.I.
